1. How old is your home and who built it?

We are the first owners and moved in May 2012 so the house is 4 years old. It was built by Highmark Homes.

2. Where are the schools and is there a bus that comes into the neighbourhood?

There are nearby schools for both the Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board. Please check their website for the boundaries of various schools surrounding the neighbourhood.

For both school boards, they provide a school bus for transportation which picks up and drops off the kids near the park. Sinclair Public High School is within walking distance and remains the highest ranked school in Durham Region according to the Fraser Institute's Ontario Secondary School Report Card program.

3. How long does it take to get to the GO Train Station or 407?

It will only take you 10-15 minutes to get to the Whitby GO Train Station. If you need to get to the 407, it's only a 3 minute drive north.

4. What's a vac pan?

VacPans are also commonly referred to as Toe Sweeps, Toe Kick Vacuums, Kick Pans, and Baseboard Vacuums. It's an under the cabinet or similiar in wall toe kick operated central vacuum port. It is installed flush-mounted to a wall, baseboard, or cabinet kickboard, and only turns on when you activate it. It's great to sweep crumbs, hair and dust into it without taking out the central vacuum to clean up. Vac Pans have been installed in all 2nd floor washrooms, the main floor kitchen, and laundry room/mud room.

7. What additional features did you put in the movie theatre?

We thoughtfully planned the home theatre with upgraded materials such as using insulation that minimizes the sounds coming out of the room (Roxull Safe & Sound Insulation). We can still sleep undisturbed on the 2nd floor while other people are watching a movie in the theatre room. The 120" projection screen is controlled by a remote to pull screen up or down and allows for sound to pass through it so we've put the speakers behind the screen for a cleaner look.
