This two story was built in 1979 with heavy tongue and groove boards instead of plywood on the outside walls and 8X1 tongue and groove planks both on the main and upper floors so this is a very, very sturdy and well built home. It has always been very well meticulously maintained and has undergone a complete renovation in 2013 after an 8 mile move from the farm into a double lot in downtown Carrot River. Renovations included all new windows (Northern Comfort Windows), exterior siding (Hardy board cement), and all new and very high quality vinyl fencing with three locking gates, and Barkman landscape stone double driveway and walkways circling the house. Probably my favourite aspect of the house is a large east facing screen room off the kitchen that is surrounded by the beautiful yard.

The main floor also has a bedroom with a sink and toilet and two closets. There is a large, west street facing bow windowed office with custom desk and cabinets. Hallways and stairway are 4’ wide. There are wide base tabs crown molding at ceiling throughout.

The second floor has a good sized master bedroom with a large walk in closet and three piece ensuite bathroom. There are three additional large sized bedrooms, and a storage room for luggage and seasonal clothing, etc. Between two of the bedrooms is a three piece bathroom which contains a very deep faux marble tub with brass faucets.

The double garage has a high efficiency gas furnace. The second garage door was remodeled in the 2013 renovation and a walk through door was installed instead. The double really wasn't practical for two large vehicles to open doors without fear of damaging the one beside. There is a long counter high storage cabinet/workbench along the back wall.

The front and back yard are fully irrigated. Outside the fence beside the house is a drive-through that can accomodate RV and other large vehicles. The yard was newly and fully landscaped in 2014 so trees and shrubs are well established but still in their prime. There is a very bright and semi hidden garden shed about 20X10 so there is lots of room for storage of snowblower, lawnmower, etc. It also has a potting/work shelf along one side. The back fence is 8' high so the yard is very private even though we share a back alley with stores on main street. This downtown location means shopping is at the back door.
